Edwin Lebron graduated with a B.S. in International Business and Economics from the Cotsakos College of Business William Paterson University. He graduated Suma Cum Laude and is a member of Beta Gamma Sigma, an international honor society. Edwin earned several accolades which include: Beta Gamma Sigma-Award for Excellence in Global Business, NYSSA-Certificate for Outstanding Investment Research, WPU- Outstanding Senior Bus. Admin/ concentration Global Business, and NJCBAA recognition.
During Edwin’s undergraduate studies, he participated in two competitions which enriched his academic experience, consequently, improving his interpersonal, analytical, and presentation skills. As an active member of the Global Financial Services Institute, Edwin competed in the NYSSA CFA Challenge where he was required to conduct market and industry research, manage project expectations, and present a financial analysis formally to the executive panel of MICROS Systems. Additionally, serving as a Project Manager with SIFE (Students in Free Enterprise) he was required to oversee projects, gather measurements, and implement the proper resources. He was also responsible for communicating results to corporate sponsors like Unilever, Time/Warner, Edward Jones, Lowes, and Finish Line.
In 2005, Edwin began his real estate career as a residential loan officer for Metropolitan Mortgage. When the housing market experienced a severe downturn in 2008. Edwin utilized his ability to read market trends and data to transition into commercial loans, where he was able to turn distressed properties into investment opportunities. Edwin held several positions that allowed him to gain extensive knowledge in bridge loans, mezzanine financing, and asset based lending.
In 2010, Edwin decided to further expand his experience and skillsets. Edwin initially worked with Xerox in New York where he held a position in their B2B sales team. While working with Xerox, he was recruited by Tesla Motors to head up special projects in the New York Metro Area. Edwin was instrumental in the launch of two locations White Plains, NY and Paramus, NJ, Tesla’s first location in New Jersey. At that point, Edwin was invited to join Toys ‘R’ us as part of store planning. He worked alongside buyers and analyst which helped him develop a broad understanding of retail operations, sales forecasting, supplier relations, customer service, and inventory planning and allocation.
Edwin had a strong desire to re-enter the real estate industry. In 2013, while still working at Toys ‘R’UShe met with William Schmitt. William Schmitt offered him an opportunity to join Schmitt Capital. Edwin believed that his wide array of experience coupled with his effectiveness in relationship management would serve as major assets to the organization as a whole. Edwin joined Schmitt Capital LLC in 2014, where he currently serves as an Acquisition and Project Manager specializing in multifamily buildings, mixed use properties, distressed commercial properties, and construction projects.
